Making a Major Decision Program Series

In line with the University's goals for improved student retention and time to degree the CCPS Advising Center is hosting information sessions targeted at pre-major and early major students. This seminar series is called "Making a Major Decision" and will focus on each of the five CCPS undergraduate programs. Students will have an opportunity to connect with GVSU Alumni, Program Faculty and CCPS Advisors to learn more about each of the CCPS major programs.

These one-hour sessions will provide a brief intro to the program and an opportunity to interact with recent alums from the program to talk about their work and what they learned from their college experience.

Reservations are required and space is limited! MORE INFORMATION

How to Prepare for Advanced Registration

Advanced Registration Steps

Advanced Registration for the next academic year (including Spring/Summer 2013, Fall 2013 and Winter 2014) begins on March 18, 2013. Preparing for the advanced registration period is the key to securing a schedule that best meets a student's needs and interests. We have developed some steps to help students use this time to prepare for the registration process. This may be helpful for faculty to review as well. MORE INFORMATION

The Advanced Registration schedule is based on a student's credits (earned hours plus Winter enrollment) and the student's Last Name. MORE INFORMATION

The College of Community & Public Service has a college-wide process for students requesting overrides into any CCPS courses. This process will begin March 1st for the 2013-2014 year.  MORE INFORMATION

I am Grand Valley!

Arache Wilson

We are very excited that our student assistant, Arache Wilson, received an "I am Grand Valley" award. She began working in our office last semester and has been a great addition. She is always motivated and willing to learn about our office and to help students coming for an advising appointment. As a recent transfer student to Grand Valley she has made the transition well. In addition to our office, she has also joined Alpha Sigma Tau and shows her leadership ability daily. Arache was nominated by staff in our office. Congratulations to Arache and to all of the students who received an "I am Grand Valley' Award this year! MORE INFORMATION
