More than ever, young people need guidance to transition from school into satisfying careers, and to understand the opportunities and challenges that accompany advances in technology. Myfuture, the National Career Information Service, offers online tools to help you and your students discover their interests and future career pathways. Myfuture is the result of a collaborative project supported by industry and governments at federal and state levels, and is used in every state and territory of Australia. It offers a digitally delivered, enhanced career development service to support individuals or those who influence career choices. The My Career Profile tool enables students to explore career pathways and develop self-knowledge for career decision-making. Log in to My Career Profile to complete activities, and explore suggested occupations and courses. While you’re on the myfuture site, take a moment to look around as there is so much to discover. The Career insight section contains articles about higher education and vocational education opportunities as well as tips for gaining and keeping work. For example, did you know that there are over 500 occupations across Australia that offer apprenticeships in a variety of certificate levels? And that there’s a range of alternative entry pathways to university for students who did not achieve their desired Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or Overall Position (OP)?
