Welcome!

Welcome to June’s issue of the Cracking Ideas newsletter! It won’t be long before school breaks up (or maybe you have already finished... lucky you!) and summer is truly upon us: long sunny days, ice creams and sand castles!  Here at www.crackingideas.com we've got lots of fun activities to keep you entertained this summer...

Cracking Ideas Competition

Cracking Ideas Competition

Whilst you’re enjoying your hard earned break from school don’t let your brain get soggy, why not put your thinking caps on (well... more of a thinking sun hat) and give some thought to our Cracking Ideas Competition? All you have to do is come up with Wallace and Gromit’s next business venture and decide how they could protect their creativity using intellectual property like trade marks, patents, copyright and design.

Maybe you could give the innovative duo a business with a summery theme? How about putting them in charge of their own company manufacturing sunglasses, or maybe they could be in charge of hiring out the deckchairs in the park whilst Wallace’s patented automatic duck feeding machine throws bread to the wildfowl on the lake. Whatever you decide, don’t forget to enter your cracking idea at www.crackingideas.com/competition

May's Eureka Challenge Winner

May's Eureka Challenge Winner

Carrying on with the sunny theme, the Cracking Ideas team are pleased to announce that the winner of last month’s very summery ‘Design a Carnival Float’ challenge was the ‘All-You-Can-Eat Carnival Float’ ingeniously created by gromitsbuddyinginventor . The team would love to go to a carnival where floats launch cakes and goodies into the crowd! Gromitsbuddyinginventor wins a family ticket to the ‘Wallace and Gromit Present a World of Cracking Ideas’ exhibition at the Science Museum, London. Congratulations! Have a fantastic time – the exhibition experience is a great place to visit during the school holidays.

This Month's Challenge

This Month's Challenge

Why not try your hand at June’s ‘Create a Puppet Show’ challenge and find out a bit more about copyright, go to www.crackingideas.com/challenges where you’ll find details of the challenge.

You might win this month’s prize: a signed copy of ‘Wallace & Gromit: Grand Adventures & Glorious Inventions’ pop-up book, featuring lots of Wallace’s amazing contraptions.

Have lots of fun innovating, creating and coming up with those cracking summer ideas. Take care and I’ll be back next month.

Cracking regards,
