“Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels™ is the best I’ve ever seen in evaluating training effectiveness. It is sequentially integrated and comprehensive. It goes far beyond ‘smile sheets’ into actual learning, behaviour changes and actual results, including long-term evaluation. An outstanding model!"

Deakin still an 'Employer of Choice for Women'
2011 marked the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day, and for the 6th consecutive year Deakin has been awarded the prestigious 'Employer of Choice for Women' citation.
The Australian Government's Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) recognises employers with more than 100 staff for outstanding performance in advancing equal employment opportunity for women.
Only 98 of 2537 reporting organisations received the citation this year which places Deakin University in the top 4%. This is a significant achievement for Deakin University; it recognises our sustained effort to improve employment outcomes for women.

Deakin alumni event
March 15, 2011
“Yesterday the web linked information. Today Web 2.0 links people.”
Social media is here to stay and – according to business communication and issues management specialist Ross Monaghan – organisations, parents and the general public should embrace rather than fear this instantaneous way of communicating.
Ross took the Deakin alumni and their guests on a journalism journey, from the days of typewriters, carbon paper and 24-hour news turn around time to iPads, micro-blogging and current events being updated every minute.
