Upcoming Deadlines

15 May 2020: United European Gastroenterology is offering a prize of €10,000 to go towards future research for the top 5 abstracts submitted to UEG Week. 

1 June 2020: Cardiff University is seeking applicants for their VC international scholarship in cancer and genetics (immune cell profiling of lymphoid malignancies). The funded PhD opportunity starts in October and will run for three years.

Influenza antibodies made by Pirbright reduce disease in chickens

Scientists at The Pirbright Institute, supported by the Newton Fund, have engineered synthetic antibody molecules that can be administered to poultry to reduce the symptoms of influenza. Learn more about their research and findings.

Newton Professional Development and Engagement Programme Peru - Pillar of Innovation

A consultant is being sought to help organisations in Peru identify the human capital gaps in the forestry sector in the country. The deadline for applications has been extended to 23 April.

Newton Professional Development and Engagement Programme Peru - Scientific Advisory Unit

A technical expert is required to support policymakers in Peru in creating a fit-for-purpose scientific advisory unit. This unit will provide intelligence and scientific advice to institutions responsible for public policy. The deadline for applications has been extended to 23 April.

The Alliance Hubert Curien Programme

This joint initiative between the governments of the UK and France is offering higher education institutions funding to support mobility for early career science researchers.

Newton Prize 2020

The Newton Prize is an annual £1 million fund awarded for the best research or innovation that promotes the economic development and social welfare of Newton Fund partner countries.

The Newton Prize 2020 call for applications is now open. This year the prize will be awarded for outstanding research and innovation partnerships between the UK and Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, South Africa, and Turkey respectively.
