Come let's walk together ...

True Partnership

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:4-5

The word used here for partnership is 'koinonia', which means: joint participation, sharing, fellowship and communion. Fellowship and participation in the Gospel, in ministry, in God‘s Mission - that is true partnership.

Why Partner?

The answer to the question "Why Partner?" is simply because it contributes to the Mission of God.

We love to talk about partnership, but often, in truth, we don’t really like to do it unless it serves our own interests.

Micah Global was established to enable this participation and sharing.

We are spiritually bound together in Christ and what makes our partnership distinct is that we are committed to enabling one another to fulfil our shared missional vision. The type of partnership we are called to demonstrates the Kingdom of God.

Our challenge is to manage the tension between elevating our own desire for recognition and identity promotion with the call to koinonia under God’s Mission.

It takes courage and intentionality to partner, regardless of who gets the credit as we build God's kingdom together ...

Courage to Partner

1) Partnership is a spiritual realisation of God's Mission. God has distributed gifts through his Body so as to enable us to share. This makes every part of the body indispensable. Mission is not possible without partnership. It is an integral part of God’s Mission.

2) Learning happens together (Ephesians 3:17-19). This is why Micah Global believes that bringing us together for conversations, consultations and workshops is an important part of God's Mission.

3) Encouragement of one another is a vital part of strengthening ourselves. (2 Corinthians 1:4)

4) Provision and resourcing of one another, creating opportunities to be a blessing and be blessed. (Philippians 4:15-17)

5) Enabling greater accountability to and for one another.

6) Prayer cover for one another, recognising our battle is also against principalities and powers. (Ephesians 6:12)

7) Recognising that God’s Mission involves reconciling all things in Christ (Colossians 1:20). This includes bringing us together to work towards God's Mission; restoration of every aspect of life. We cannot do this on our own.

Thank you to each of our members who have intentionally chosen to walk together with us as we channel our efforts towards integral mission. As we look forward to a new year, we acknowledge the importance of partnership and unity.

Come, let's walk together into 2017 ...

Micah Russia launched

Micah Global and the Russian Church launched Micah Russia in November 2016. Having attended the Micah Global Triennial in 2015 and the regional Micah Consultation in Moldova in April 2016, Alexey Ivshin had a vision to invite Micah to Russia. This became a reality when we all gathered in Moscow from the 24th to the 26th November last year. "What a privilege to partner with Christians in Russia to see so many participants taking part in this first joint conference," says Sheryl Haw, International Director of Micah Global. From Communism to Christ: Thir Koirala, Micah Nepal

Thir Koirala grew up in a Hindu home, converted to communism as a young man, and then met Jesus through letters from a missional correspondence ministry. He joined a very strict church that discouraged believers from getting involved in politics, media or anything 'worldly'. One day God spoke to him through the story of the Good Samaritan, and his Christian life changed dramatically. Today he is leading Micah Nepal, runs outreach organisations, and is a freelance journalist. To read his full story, click here.
