CPC Unveils New Strategic Plan: “Community Roots to Collective Impact” CPC is proud to announce the launch of its new Strategic Plan, Community Roots to Collective Impact. The five-year plan charts a bold path forward for CPC’s next chapter, evolving from a trusted direct service provider into a powerful catalyst for community-led systems change. Over the next five years, CPC will focus on four key goals: Meeting evolving community needs through program innovation and expansion; amplifying policy advocacy and strengthening alliances to advance equity and immigrant rights; enhancing organizational infrastructure to remain an employer of choice with a skilled, diverse workforce; and strengthening financial stability through diversified, sustainable revenue streams. CPC Responds to SNAP Disruptions With Emergency Food Distribution On November 11th, NY1 reported that the federal government shutdown has interrupted SNAP benefits for 1.8 million New Yorkers. In response, community organizations like CPC have scaled up emergency food distribution efforts to help families put food on the table. CPC organized a pop-up food distribution at CPC One within three days and provided fresh produce to more than 300 community members.
Bill Yeung Named to City & State’s Inaugural “Unsung Heroes” List On November 10th, City & State New York published its “Unsung Heroes” list, which recognizes highly effective New Yorkers who operate largely outside of the public spotlight. Bill Yeung, CPC's Chief Operating Officer, is among the honorees. His journey with CPC began when he was a program participant, and since joining as a staff member in 2000, he has modernized systems, strengthened cybersecurity, and streamlined operations for the organization. CPC Provides CPR & First Aid Training to Child Care Staff On November 11th, CPC Childhood Development Services (CDS) hosted an on-site CPR and First Aid training to ensure our staff are equipped with essential, life-saving skills for the children and families we serve. Led by Juan E. Vallejo, a veteran, a total of 16 staff members from across our CDS programs participated to deepen their skills and knowledge to better support their students.
CPC Celebrates Thanksgiving with Our Community This Thanksgiving, CPC distributed more than 1,000 turkeys to families across New York City. Celebrations continued across the boroughs. Our Brooklyn Older Adult Center partnered with the CPC Beacon Program at IS 220 for an intergenerational Thanksgiving event. In Queens, our School-Age Child Care Center at PS 20 held a delicious potluck. In Manhattan, the NY Chinatown Older Adult Center welcomed over 300 members to a festive party. CPC Joins CISANI Conference in Hong Kong and Shares Best Practices in Aging Services From November 17–21, CPC attended the CISANI (Chinese Immigrant Service Agencies Network International) Conference 2025 in Hong Kong. Under the theme “Ageing Services in a Highly Mobile Society,” the conference explored the need for adaptable, inclusive, and culturally competent service models for highly mobile aging populations. The annual conference convenes member organizations serving Chinese immigrant communities worldwide, creating a platform to share frontline experiences, unique challenges, and innovative practices.
CPC Advocates for Inclusive Policy at 2025 SOMOS Conference in Puerto Rico From November 5th to 9th, CPC joined leaders from across New York and Puerto Rico at the 2025 SOMOS Conference to discuss equitable public policy, build cross-cultural coalitions, and uplift AAPI, Latinx, and all marginalized communities. A key highlight was CPC co-hosting the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Reception with the New York State Assembly APA Taskforce and over 40 partner organizations. This event gathered nearly 700 guests, including more than over 80 policymakers. During the conference, CPC President and CEO Wayne Ho also spoke as a panelist in two workshops on strategies needed to secure equitable futures and explored ways to shape inclusive data, AI tools, and policies. CPC Honors Supporters and Community Partners at Appreciation Reception On November 14th, CPC welcomed nearly 200 supporters, elected officials, and community partners to an Appreciation Reception. The event celebrated our partnership and collective impact in strengthening the community and advancing our shared mission. A highlight of the evening was the recognition of the Undo Poverty: Flushing team as the recipient of the 2026 CPC Service Star Award. CPC Congratulates Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on Historic Win as the First AAPI Mayor of New York City CPC congratulates Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on becoming the first Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Mayor of New York City.
