2nd Grade eNews

We cannot wait for Grandparents’ Day! Remember, it is next Friday, September 28th! We hope all of you can join us on this day. Dismissal will be immediately following the program. There is NO EXTENDED CARE.

Also, we will say our Bible Verse this week and take our Spelling Test on Thursday because of Grandparents’ day on Friday. We will not have homework on Thursday. The students do not need to bring backpacks on Friday.

Next Week

Bible – We are so proud of all the students for saying the Ten Commandments! Hopefully, they will remember these all their lives. - We will study Joshua this week and use several passages. Some of them include Numbers chapters 13, 14, and 27 along with Joshua and Deuteronomy 34.
Verse - Joshua 1:9: “Haven’t I commanded you; be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Reading – We will be reviewing all of our skills from Unit I in Reading this week. These include comprehension, short and long vowel sounds, soft and hard g and c, sequence of events, compare and contrast, author’s purpose, and story structure.
Spelling – This is also a review unit – here are the words for this week – there will be 15 since it is a review unit - job hug get sad if cake mine spin swim nose use the with at they
Grammar – This is a review unit – we will review complete sentences with capitalization and punctuation, subject and predicate, and nouns.
Math – Count by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s, comparing numbers, order of number, and expanded form

October 4th – Cookie Dough Delivery after lunch in the SEC foyer.
October 12th - Homecoming Parties at 2pm - Pep Rally at 2:45pm - Parade following Pep Rally - Car lines will be a little late on this day!
