New Year, New Beaufort

The New Year has finally arrived and already we are seeing some exciting new additions to our colourful street. These last few months we have been indulging in all the new eats that cover Beaufort Street, from Asian fusion to modern Australian and maybe even a meatballl here and there. We are also saying hello to some amazing new artwork which has transformed one of our carpark walls thanks to a large group of artists and local business. And to top it off we have some great new events approaching that are both fun and tasty! If the first few weeks of 2016 are any indicator of the rest of the year I think we are in for a good ride!

Beaufort Street foodie update!

We have four new places for our local foodies to treat their taste buds. Meatballs, Dainty Dowager, Sweet As and Chapas are the newest additions to Beaufort Street. We’re trying to keep up with all these new places without increasing our waistline. We were treated to a feast at Dainty Dowager last week that left us full and wanting more. Chapas stole our hearts taking us to dumpling heaven, the Dim Sum platter at $20 was plenty for 4 of us as an entrée. We then went on to treat ourselves to soft shell crab, chilli beef and tofu. It was a taste sensation and we can’t wait to go back! Next on the ‘to eat list’ are Meatballs and Sweet As, our bellies taste buds can’t wait.

New masterpiece on Beaufort

Perth have just transformed another plain wall in to a masterpiece in Mt Lawley, this time in the carpark behind the Flying Scotsman pub. The artists involved are Robert Jenkins, Mel McVee, Steve Brown, James Giddy, Jerome Davenport, Clara Fosca, Lawry Halden and Paul Deej. We love the new art that graces our streets and hope that our street art gallery will continue to grow and showcase some of the best street art in WA. The very uninteresting blank wall was provided by Psychology Australia and the community sponsors were City of Vincent, the Beaufort Street Network, Aussie – Mt Lawley, YACWA, Crust Pizza Bar Mt Lawley and Beaufort Realty. Our dull spaces are becoming very colourful and Perth is certainly catching up to the rest of the world.
