Ahoy Hot Bottlers!

As we sail into the golden glory of the summer holiday season I am still reeling from that mega weekend of sport and want to raise my glass (of English wine) especially to the Champagne Super Over win for the England cricket team at the World Cup.

If it was up to me, I would give the wine fans in the team a thorough soaking in sheer splendour direct from The Wine Hose.

P&O Cruises - I’ve just returned from serving the drinks in my Glass House wine bar on Britannia. As well as hosting tastings, dinners and Q&As, it was a pleasure signing copies of my book Fizz.

Join me over the summer....

BBC Saturday Kitchen - I’ll be joining the show on 27th July, throughout the summer and into the autumn with Matt and the team. Keep tuning in for feasts, tipples and fun.

Carfest - Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, 23rd - 25th August - Join me at Chris Evans' high octane music, foodie and car festival and support some fantastic children's charities! I'll be at the festival on Sunday 25th August. Tickets and more info here.

Help break a world record - Kia Oval, 9th September - To celebrate their 50th anniversary, the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is launching the 1st ever global Wine Education Week, 9th-15th September 2019.

Join me at the launch with an attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for the largest ever recorded sommelierie lesson.

For more info and purchase tickets, click here.

I'll also be appearing at the Abergavenny Food Festival on 21st September - shaking up some cocktails from FIZZ on stage. Come along if you’re in the area. More info here.

HOT BOTTLE

To launch you into the holiday season, fill your wine hose with a couple of English gems:

Coolhurst Lady Elizabeth Sparkling Rosé (12%) £42 is made just down the road from me and a total stunner of a sparkler. Single vintage single vineyard rosé this tastes like the best British summer with soft fruity finesse and ravishing refreshment. I poured it for my Mum who instantly declared it her favourite ever glass of bubbly. I’ve personally ordered two cases and recommend getting in quick before this Sussex star is all gone.

Bolney Lychgate Bacchus 2018 (12%) £12.99 WOW! A cascade of gooseberries, lime blossom, elderflower and zinging precision make this the ultimate sharpener for this summer. Set aside your Sauvignon Blanc and buy this brilliant British Bacchus.

Have a fabulous summer and thanks for all the support - keep the comments coming!
