Importance of Support and Accountability in Reaching Your Goals ...and it’s even better when it’s FREE!

By Anne Bodak Smith B.S., D.C.
EvolvHealth Chief Science Officer

When people set out to lose weight and get in better shape, among the first things people do is modify what they eat and perhaps get moving a little more. Obviously these are fundamental steps, but how important is it to have a system of accountability and support in place when going after your weight loss and fitness goals? Health and fitness experts agree that both support and accountability are crucial to long term success in weight loss and health regimes...and if you don’t have that system in place, the chances of falling off your program or not reaching your goal increase dramatically.

All the best athletes in the world have coaches and a team of people to help them in their training. With Evolv and the e84 Challenge, we have created a system that automatically includes these critical yet often overlooked components to support you in completing your Challenge and reaching your goals.  Remember, our focus is not to have you just start an e84, our commitment is to help you complete your e84!  We have developed a one-of-a-kind tool to provide you with the simplest and easiest access to this accountability and support...not only that, it is fun, 100% FREE, and available 24 hours a day: The e84 Facebook App

Sweat Glamorously: Weight Loss Tips for the Crème de la Femme

According to a recent study from The Journal of the American Medical Association using The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), women’s obesity rate is surpassing that of men’s.  It is no wonder that with 35.5 percent of women over the age of 20 being obese in America compared to that of 32.2 percent of men, women are more than ever seeking solutions to get rid of the unwanted baggage.  With the weight loss industry being a multi-billion dollar maker, it is perplexing how the statistics are continuing to rise. While women continue to search for a miracle solution for weight loss, the tried and true method is diet and exercise adhered with a little bit of knowledge, discipline, and determination.  Whether it is the kadunkadunk in the booty, the muffin top on the hips, or the man on her back, it is time for the crème de la femme to take control of her health, get rid of the baggage, and sweat glamorously while doing it!

Six Tips for Starting and Sticking to a Fitness Program

Joshua Ortegon, CSCS

by Joshua Ortegon, CSCS

Being involved in the fitness industry for 15 years and working with all populations from professional and Olympic level athletes to weekend warriors to youth athletes and those looking to shed a few pounds, I have seen ALL types of gimmicks, heard all kinds of excuses and been involved in many success stories as well as my share of “not so successful” stories.

Below are my 6 GREATEST tips for starting a fitness and wellness program I have learned in the past 1 ½ decades in this industry.  You will notice these are “simple” suggestions but not always the “easiest” to accomplish.  For instance, the idea of getting up at 6am to do that walk around the neighborhood is a simple concept, but when that bed is cozy and you just want to hit the snooze button and get those extra 10 minutes of sleep in, getting up becomes HARD! How do you overcome those challenges?

1. Get accountable
2. Set a realistic goal
3. Reward yourself
4. Don't starve yourself
5. Get professional help
6. Make fitness fun

Learn more about these 6 steps by clicking read more.
