| SDS Water Pipeline Construction Begins on Constitution Avenue |
On Monday, February 3, construction crews will begin work to install underground water pipeline along Constitution Avenue between Powers Boulevard and Marksheffel Road. The pipeline is part of the Southern Delivery System (SDS) project, needed to deliver water to Colorado Springs Utilities customers.
The work starting on February 3 will occur between Marksheffel Road and an area just west of Akers Drive. Westbound traffic on Constitution Avenue will be reduced to one lane during this work.
If you normally use Constitution Avenue or related side streets, you may want to use alternate routes when possible to avoid delays. The construction will progress west along Constitution Avenue and is anticipated to be completed by November 2014.
