What a fun week filled with apple activities…we tasted different kinds of apples and graphed our favorite type, learned how apples grow, and made applesauce.  God is so good to give us so many kinds of yummy apples!

Next week for Show and Tell, we are asking each child to bring two things that rhyme in a bag, like sock and block or cat and hat.  These can be small items or pictures.  Your child will share one item and then we will have fun trying to guess the second thing in the bag!  Thanks for helping your child find the items. 

As we focus on rhyming, we will begin a two week unit on Nursery Rhymes.  They are “oldies but goodies” and children learn so much by hearing and reciting them.

• Bible Verse: “For nothing is impossible with God.”  Luke 1:37 (We will recite this verse in chapel on Thursday.  Practice at home too!)
• Bible Story:  Isaac, The Promised Son
• Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the letter “Dd” and the sound that /d/makes (think duck and dog). We will also work on rhyming words
• Math:  #3 and sequencing
• Unit:  Nursery Rhymes
• Show and Tell: Bring two items (or pictures of 2 things) that rhyme in a bag

• Please remember that your child’s lunch must include 1 protein, 1 grain, 1 fruit and 1 vegetable OR 2 fruits OR 2 vegetables.  We must adhere to these guidelines set forth by DHS.  Thank you so much for helping us with this requirement! 
• Snacks are served in classroom Monday through Friday – Cereal, goldfish, crackers, or pretzels.  Dried fruit will be offered.

• September 18th – Fundraiser at Cane’s chicken in Fayetteville (Help us raise money for a new playground!)
• September 29th - Grandparents Day Program (performed by Shiloh third graders) at 9:00 a.m. in the Worship Center. Grandparents and parents are invited to visit our classrooms following the performance. School will be dismissed following the program and there is no extended care on this day.  3 day students are welcome to come enjoy the program with grandparents if they wish!
• October 5th – Cookie Dough Delivery Day!  Pick up cookie dough orders in the SEC foyer from 12:00-5:00.
• October 16th – Parent Teacher Conference.  We will send emails with available times soon!
