Hi there,

Australia and New Zealand are two countries on different trajectories when it comes to distributing and administering vaccinations to an anxious populace.

Australia launched its online vaccination booking system this week, based on the just-out-of-the-courts HealthEngine platform, and is facing a barrage of complaints from all sides that it has been rushed. For most, 'online' translates to phone numbers being listed on a website. But, importantly, vaccines are available and being administered with some urgency.

Health tech laggard New Zealand, meanwhile, has selected a booking platform, but is yet to implement or integrate it and three of the four systems it needs (including a supply chain system to manage distribution) are yet to be implemented.

But a word of advice. Whichever side of the Tasman you're on, it might pay to keep any piece of paper you're given post vaccination in a very safe place. Tucked inside your passport perhaps?

Of course the collection of data and the ability to access it in the right form when needed isn’t just critical for vaccine rollouts. It is vital for all businesses, particularly in a rapidly changing world. But keeping your reporting framework up to date with business change can be frustrating and costly. Fortunately, there are ways to futureproof your financial reporting.
