Click here Barnard College Update - Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017Dear Claremont resident: As we begin the Spring semester, we are pleased that the superstructure of the new building is starting to rise above the site – and especially thankful the weather is cooperating. By the end of April, the entire teaching and learning center will have taken shape and we’ll begin installing the exterior façade. As we mentioned in our email last week, the amended plan we worked on over the break will now allow the crane to be lowered and secured on the site during most wind events instead of having to be moved onto Claremont Avenue. However, the work on that amended plan set us back a bit on the schedule, so we will begin working Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. starting this weekend. The work being done on Saturdays will be the same as that during the weekdays and should not be particularly disruptive. There will be an occasional delivery, but the work shouldn’t have much impact. We appreciate your continued patience. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Questions? For general questions and comments, please email me at newbuilding@barnard.edu. If you have an urgent issue that needs to be addressed immediately, please email constructionteam@barnard.edu during regular work hours, or call Barnard Public Safety at 212/854-3362 outside of regular work hours. You can also find our overall construction plan and specific construction-related FAQs on our website: http://barnard.edu/about-barnard/new-teaching-learning-center/construction-faqs. Thank you.
