THE HUNTER'S ONLY WATERFRONT GALLERY No Images? Click here News and EventsThe opening celebration for our three current shows, STEEL: art design architecture, Your Collection: Hunter Steel, and Artist Focus: Matthew Tome was held Sunday 7 October. The crowd enjoyed live music by Newcastle's own award-winning indie-folk musician, Steel City Sue, and fascinating insights from our two guest speakers–Margaret Hancock Davis from the JamFactory and Hunter-based architectural photographer Murray McKean. STEEL: art design architecture is sure to inspire you with diverse examples demonstrating the many uses of steel. Featured in this touring exhibition from the JamFactory are architectural models, images of award-winning building designs, hand-formed steel chairs, jewellery and recycled artefacts – all stunning in their craftsmanship. STEEL continues until 2 December. As a part of our new monthly 'Meet the Maker' program, we were delighted to have artist, Kes Harper, in the Gallery on Saturday 27 October to share her many inspirations and jewellery making process for Meet the Maker.
