No images? Click here The University of Canterbury is currently operating under Covid Alert Level 2. We’re pleased to update you on the following information, which has been confirmed since our email on Monday, and Auckland’s move to Covid Alert Level 3 on Wednesday 22 September. Vaccination clinic: There’s no need to book, just drop in with your friends, flatmates or whānau and the team will take care of you. Please wear a face covering and maintain physical distancing. For more information on the Covid-19 vaccine, click here> Travel: Unfortunately, this means University of Canterbury students currently based in Auckland will be unable to return to Ōtautahi Christchurch, and the UC campus, at this time. While there is precedent for permitted movement to attend an education entity, ‘the education entity must be within the same or adjacent region within the Alert Level 3 area’, which excludes travel to Ōtautahi Christchurch. For more on regional travel at Alert Level 3, click here> We encourage any Auckland-based students to join the new, private UCSA Facebook group, 09 Lockdown Lowdown, so they can chat and stay connected. The student exec are online also. The vibe in the group is relaxed and it is a space where students can share anything from a study tip or challenge to a recipe and more. Join 09 Lockdown Lowdown here> End of year exams: For some courses, face-to-face examinations have been approved and, in these cases, you will be expected to attend in-person, unless you’re affected by circumstances that prevent you from coming onto campus, such as travel restrictions or health issues. If this is the case, then an online exam will be available for you. Confirmation of courses with face-to-face exams will be sent to you by 1 October. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact ucprotect@canterbury.ac.nz. Support for students Remember, there are a number of support services available to all students if you’re not feeling at your best right now:
