As the head of a consumer rights group, OSPIRG's Dave Rosenfeld pays attention to what's on the minds of Oregonians. One issue he says he's asked about quite often in his line of work is ID theft - mainly what to do if it happens to you, and how to avoid it altogether.
In our latest Ask the Expert series, Dave explains these answers and more, including tips to stay safe as more financial transactions are moving online.

You can learn more about your rights if you're the victim of identity theft at the Federal Trade Commission's consumer site - click here. Have you experienced ID theft? Do you have a great idea for our next expert? Let us know!

We are also happy to announce that we’re now able to accept online donations to support our consumer protection and advocacy work!
