Rep. Doug LaMalfa named chairman of House subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs

WASHINGTON—The House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop (R-Utah) announced subcommittee chairmen and assignments for the 115th Congress. The House Committee on Natural Resources has five subcommittees of which one is the Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs. Chairman Bishop announced that Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.) will serve as chairman of the House subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs, which was previously chaired by Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska). Rep. LaMalfa has been in Congress since January of 2013 serving as the representative for California’s 1st congressional district, which is in the northeastern part of California.
