CEC ArtsLink invites artists and arts managers in performing arts and literature from 37 eligible countries (including: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) to apply for structured residencies at U.S. arts organizations. Apexart's Unsolicited Proposal Program is an opportunity for anyone, from anywhere, to submit a proposal for an idea-based exhibition at apexart. Three winning proposals will be presented at apexart in New York City as part of their 2015-16 season. Darat Al Funun-The Khalid Shoman Foundation is pleased to announce the open call for it’s 2015-16 dissertation fellowship for the study of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab World. The fellowship provides financial support of up to ten thousand US dollars to Ph.D. candidates in the humanities and social sciences. In collaboration with Qatar Museum and Qatar Foundation, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern art introduces its long-term project, Mathaf Encyclopedia of Modern Art and the Arab World (MEMAAW)
to provide a major resource on Arab artists and their histories. The bilingual Encyclopedia is a free online scholarly comprehensive resource that will provide basic facts and in depth information on modern art of the Arab world. The Encyclopedia aims to standardize the data on Arab artists and to encourage multiple perspectives on modernism in the Arab world while providing a comprehensive view on its development. Tangier-based artist Yto Barrada takes the esteemed 2015 Abraaj Group Art Prize. Yto Barrada’s newly commissioned work, produced for The Abraaj Group Art Prize, will be part of an exhibition at Art Dubai, March 18-21, 2015. The exhibition will also feature previous works by the three shortlisted artists—Sarnath Banerjee, Setareh Shahbazi
and Mounira Al Solh, and Omar Kholeif, who has been selected as 2015 Guest Curator. The award affords the winner the opportunity of developing an ambitious project, which wouldn’t otherwise be possible. For more information, see here.
