Click here Hi there, It was always a given that the Federal Government’s ban of Huawei (and ZTE) equipment for 5G builds would have some serious implications for Australia’s telcos. This week saw the first big commercial casualty, with TPG announcing it was dumping its mobile network build. The build uses Huawei and would have enabled a ‘simple’ upgrade path to 5G using, naturally, Huawei. It has to have been a big call for TPG to abandon a build in which it had already invested $130 million. Of course, there’s also the not inconsequential factor of TPG’s proposed merger with Vodafone Hutchison Australia. Will the move provide impetus for the ACCC to rethink its concerns about the proposed merger? In other news:
