Racial harassment surveyIf you’ve not done so already there’s still time to fill in the Safeguarding BAME Students’ Survey, which asks about racial harassment you’ve experienced and/or witnessed on or off campus, face to face, or online. It’s open to all students, whatever ethnicity you identify with. The findings will be used for training and other policy and practice at the University. You have been emailed a link to the survey, which closes at midnight on Saturday 16 June. You can seek help and advice or find out more about reporting such incidences informally, formally or anonymously at any time on our Exeter Speaks Out web pages. End of year results Don’t forget the summer results will be released on Friday 22 June. You can read more here. If you’re celebrating the end of term and your exams please be considerate to others, especially your neighbours and other residents. Car Parking chargesWe’re committed to incentivising green travel to and from our Penryn campus and so we’ve made some changes to parking charges, our policy and permits. You can read all of the details of the changes here. All of the money raised through parking goes back into subsidising local green travel options. Digital Check In rollout A pilot’s been running of the Digital Check In attendance app as part of iExeter, involving 300 students across our campuses. The feedback has been positive and so a full rollout for all taught students will happen at the start of the 2018/9 academic year. The new system links to your online teaching timetable and uses Bluetooth beacons in teaching rooms which interact with the iExeter app. It only monitors those teaching rooms that you’re using, at the time you're using them and it doesn’t monitor you around campus. As well as being a paperless and automated system it will also help us provide improved student support for those who need it. Find out more on the Find out more on the Digital Check In webpage. We’ll send more information on how to use the new system in September. GDPR is hereThe law around data protection has changed and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) now applies in the UK. It means we all have to do things differently in the way we collect, use and manage personal data. For students, this includes any personal data that you collect and handle for purposes such as research, as well as work you undertake in societies. If the personal data you handle is breached (i.e. accessed by an unauthorised person) then you need to report it promptly by calling SID by on 0300 555 0444. By reporting quickly, steps can be taken to investigate and secure information. More information is available on our GDPR pages. National Student SurveyMany thanks to the final year undergraduate students who completed the National Student Survey. 75% of finalists in Cornwall completed the anonymous survey run by independent agency Ipsos MORI, which gave you an opportunity to feedback on your University experience to help shape our future plans. We said we’d donate £1 to RAD for every survey completed and that total came to £438.
