Hello!
We're sending out this newsletter once a month to share news about Future Unfolding
and behind-the-scenes stuff from our development process with you. ProceduralismTo start off, we'd like to talk a bit about how the procedural world generation works in Future Unfolding. People often think procedural generation means putting random functions everywhere, but it's a bit more complex than that in practice. In our case, we use procedural generation to add tons of variation to the game, so that every player
has a unique world to explore. At the same time, we work hard to make the game world not feel random. Below are three screenshots taken from the same location in the game. You can see that the most important level elements (the path and the blue rock) are the same for all players, while everything else is unique.
