Howdy everyone!

This week I'm moving into the final editing stage of Offscreen Issue 15. The content is ~85% done and I can slowly shift into the design phase early next week. This means I'm still on track to releasing this issue mid August.

This is always an exciting point in the making of every issue – when you see the results of three months of work come together more visually. It finally feels more like a real magazine rather than a bottomless Google Document. I'm also extra thrilled to get No15 out because it's going to be the last issue in this format and design.

What's next? I'm not entirely sure yet, to be honest. There are so many things I'd like to change, it's exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Some details are slowly crystallising, and I'm looking forward to having more headspace to think about these upcoming changes once issue 15 has shipped. I can give away this much: The Modern Desk will most likely become part of an overhauled Offscreen brand.

In the meantime, feel free to send over any suggestions on how to make this newsletter better. What would you like to see more of? What other newsletters do you like receiving and why? Just hit reply.

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A wooden tray as a portable workstation
01

Skelter makes some really nice-looking and useful wooden Mac accessories, like this simple tray that offers space for your mobile device and mouse, while improving the airflow under your laptop.

Bookmarking tool for beautiful websites
02

Web designers take note: Hypershoot is a neat (and free) bookmarking tool that saves and organises full screenshots of any website you add to it (via the provided Chrome extension).

A smart tape measure
03

An actually useful smart device: Bagel is a new digital tape measure device that comes with various ways of taking measurements and a companion app to transmit and save the data. Currently going nuts on Kickstarter.

A Chrome extension for night-time browsing
04

I like this idea: Darkness provides dark themes for Facebook and Google to reduce the eye strain and fatigue caused by a bright screen, great for night-time browsing. Looks like Gmail and Youtube are supported too – for Premium users only though. Wish they'd support more websites out of the box (or allow users to add their own?!)

A(nother) beautiful wooden desk
05

My desk obsession continues: the 125 Desk is handcrafted from solid European Oak and American Rock Maple, two incorporated, concealed pencil drawers, a laptop storage area and a nook for magazines. What a beauty!

The minimalist to-do list for your menu bar
06

Jinni is probably the simplest to-do list manager I've come across. Jinni lives in your menu bar, just a click (or a key) away. Type your task and hit enter to add it. Click on a task to remove it. That's it. And it's free!
