Hail Hot Bottlers,

I’ve just touched down from an idyllic few days at Maison de la Roche in the craggy wine paradise of Corbières in southern France.  If you’re hunting an exquisitely placed and all round lovely French gîte for this summer, dive into the wonderful world curated by Honor Marks. Get a taste for it from my brand new blog

Delighted to share that my food and wine show Good Food Friday is returning this summer on Radio 2, I was thrilled that the first show reached some 6 million listeners with Michel Roux Jr and I broadcasting from the kitchens of Le Gavroche and can’t wait to reveal who will be cooking with me - and where, this time around. For clips of the first show, tune in here.

The coolest thing about my job is sharing the great things of life in person and my Three Wine Men summer show in London with Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin is coming up - Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June. A few tickets are still available here and I’d love to raise a glass with you in person.

You can also join me on Tuesday 14th June for The Harrods Summer Wine Tasting - click here for details and to book tickets. The wines I’ve picked are absolute belters - come raise a glass with me! Dive in!

I’m thrilled to be working with Lindt Excellence filming a bunch of wine and chocolate pairing videos with Master Chocolatier Stefan Bruderer. The videos will be available soon, meantime here’s a jolly snap of Stefan and I facing the gruelling task of sipping wine with scrumptious chocolate.

I’m out on wine patrol for BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen a whole bunch over the summer so tune in to see which beauties I picked to match the chefs' creations.

All aboard! I’m joining P&O Cruises Britannia this weekend, come say hi if you’re on board, you can find me in The Glass House ready to meet you vino in hand as we sail to Madeira. I’ll be joined by James Martin so bring your appetites as well as unquenchable thirst!

Finally my grateful thanks to Corney & Barrow for sponsoring this years BBC Radio 2 Children and Need Dine and Disco hosted by Chris Evans in the teepee of love aka The Mulberry, Chris’s pub in Surrey. I’ll be joined by Tom Kerridge, Georgio Locatelli, James Martin, Mark Sargent, Natasha Evans and Sir Paul McCartney will be headlining to crown a royal evening in support of Children In Need.

HOT BOTTLES

Now, to vino! Five total steals for you to enjoy this summer.

ROSÉ:

Aldi The Exquisite Collection Cotes de Provence Rosé 2015 (13.5%) £5.99. Satin for a cotton price, superbly refreshing bargain rosé, this summer’s steal of the pinks.

REDS:

Marks and Spencers Domaine de la Clairiège 2015 (12%) £5.50. Wine's answer to watching your favourite episode of Friends: simple, affable and always enjoyable. Terrific value for money.

Saint Auriol 2015 Corbieres (13.5%) £5.24 on offer Waitrose Cellar. I’m writing this just a stone’s throw from the vineyard. Awesome wine and a steal at this offer price, this year’s barbecue bottle and especially awesome with lamb.

WHITES:

Asda Wine Atlas Feteasca Regala  (11.5%) £4.97. Under a fiver for this floral scented summer sipper. A glimpse of Romania’s potential at a price which surely has to rise before too long.

Lidl Südtirol/Alto Adige Eisackaler Grüner Veltliner 2015 (13.5%) £7.49. Zap! Lightning struck from a lemon-shaped cloud, this super white is electrifying for the cash.

Cheers you legends, hugely appreciate all your comments across Facebook, Twitter, WeChat ollysaysganbei and Instagram. You can even find me on Snapchat ollysmithwine.
