Greetings from your Community BoardMessage from the ChairKia ora koutou, Highlights from our latest meetingOur Community Board met on Friday 21 August. Some highlights of our meeting included approving funding for a number of community projects as part of our discretionary response and strengthening communities funding. We also approved a process to revoke the reserve status of the land at 122 Caledonian Road, which will be kept by Council as an integral part of the new St Albans Community Centre, which is currently under construction. We also had a joint meeting with the Coastal-Burwood Community Board last Friday where we decided to recommend that Council drop the speed limit on the remaining stretch of Marshland Rd which is still at 70km/hour to 60km/hour. End in sight for St Albans, Edgeware, Mairehau road worksThe bulk of the transport projects under way in St Albans, Edgeware and Mairehau should be completed by mid-October. Contractors have been working on several transport projects in St Albans, Edgeware and Mairehau to make the road network in those neighbourhoods safer when the Christchurch Northern Corridor opens at the end of this year.
