And, as of 11.59pm tonight (4 July 2020), postcodes 3031 and 3051 will also be in lockdown. There will be people onsite who will help residents with medical care, food delivery and care packages. Doctors, nurses and medical staff will be testing everyone in the buildings for coronavirus. The Victorian Multicultural Commission is working with the Victorian Government to ensure there are community and faith leaders on the ground to also lend their support. I echo the opinion of Victorian Council of Social Services CEO, Emma King, who said that we must ensure the lockdowns are done right, done proportionately and done with sensitivity. I understand this is unprecedented and that many people will feel concerned or afraid, but to stop the spread of the virus, the Victorian Government must take this swift action.
