Upcoming Week

  • Literacy: Students will complete reading groups. Students will apply rules for reading long vowels. Students will learn the blends: Sk, Fl, Scr, spr, and str. Students will write nonfiction and fictional stories using the 5-finger method of writing.
  • Math: students will learn to measure temperature with a thermometer and length/height with a ruler in inches. 
  • Bible: Students will learn about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
  • Science/SS: Students will learn about the state of Arkansas
  • Unit of Study: butterflies
  • New Sight Words: Orange, so
  • Bible Verse: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”. Galatians 6:7

  • April 28th: April show and tell
  • May 2nd: Kindergarten Field Trip
  • May 11th: Field Day and Slip and Slide Day
  • May 12th: Field Trip to the Springdale Campus- 5th Grade Musical
  • May 12th: May Show and Tell
  • May 19th: No School
  • May 24th: Last Day of School; Awards Program at 8:15. students dismissed after program

Reminders

  • Show and Tell is Friday. Students need to complete the 3 clues and bring their plastic egg back to school with an item inside. Items and instructions sent home on Monday.
  • On May 02, our class will be visiting the NWA Chef’s Academy in Rogers from 10:00-11:30. If you would like to join us, please let me know.
  • Field Day is Thursday, May 11. We will start off the events with a school wide cookout! Coach Beers will be grilling up some hotdogs for all the students! Our class is responsible for providing chips and condiments for 60 students. If you would like to help provide individually wrapped chips, ketchup, or mustard, please let me know. If you would be willing to volunteer to help set up or tear down our cookout, please let me know.
  • After the cookout, students will participate in our field day events and will end the day with a huge slip and slide.
  • On May 12, we will be taking a mini field trip to the Springdale Campus to see the 5th grade musical.
  • The last Day of school is May 24th. We will have an awards ceremony in the Cross Church Worship Center at 8:15. Students are dismissed after the program.
