Development of operation management software for PV and wind power plants

meteocontrol has acquired the wind platform of iTerra GmbH in order to boost the development of a standardized and effective complete solution for PV and wind power plants. The functions offered by "DaWinci" will be integrated in the operation management platform VCOM Virtual Control Room.

Over the next two years, iTerra’s software specialists will collaborate with meteocontrol on this development project and contribute their many years of experience in wind energy to the solution. This represents a solid basis for developing an optimal solution which is state of the art and future-proof when it comes to satisfying the demands made upon hybrid operation management software. The integration of this software in the Virtual Control Room means that the solution will also address international requirements.

We have developed a new firmware with enhanced functions for all models in the blue’log X-Series (available starting July 1, 2015). You will benefit from the following innovations:

• Power control function
  The implementation of active and reactive power control functions satisfies the requirements of grid operators and specific national feed-in regulations in various countries. We have also simplified the configuration of Power Control in the blue’Log-X series; for example, the configuration of dynamic characteristic curve procedures is much easier thanks to a configurator with graphic feedback.

• Intelligent Power Limit (IPL)
  The IPL function supports dynamic limitation of active power while taking on-site energy consumption into account. The following diagram shows the control values transmitted to the inverter when the limit is set at 70%. In line with the on-site energy consumption, the inverter performance can be controlled dynamically and thus more than 70% can be fed in.

• Digital inputs
  Digital inputs are provided for automatic status monitoring (e.g. relay contact/door contact).
   
• Real-time data
  Real-time data from connected components such as inverters, sensors and meters is clearly organized and displayed in a table. Users can configure the measured values from any device as they wish for a customized presentation of information at a glance. This function makes troubleshooting easier, especially during commissioning, and can thus significantly reduce initial costs.

• Offline update
  blue’Log firmware is subject to constant enhancement and optimization. To ensure that you always have the latest functions, you can use our new offline updates that are available on USB sticks in addition to the proven online update option.
   
• Enhanced ftp-push data export function
  The new firmware enables you to send data via ftp-push to an ftp server of your choice several times per day, at intervals of 5, 15 or 60 minutes, or just once daily. You can activate this functionality in models X-1000 and X-3000 using the "FTP-Push Intraday X-Series" license, item number 557.001. This license is already included in the blue’Log X-6000.
