5th Grade eNews

Next Week

  • Bible – Thanksgiving
  • Verse - Hebrews 13:15, "Therefore, through Him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that confess His name."
  • Reading – We will begin our new comprehension skill - Theme.  We will also begin reading Prince Caspian as our novel.  Be watching for an email with the new graphic tool, vocabulary, essential questions, big idea, and connection point.
  • Spelling – vowel diphthongs (oi, oy, ou, ow) moisture, voyage, employ, ounce, mountain, coward, allow, oyster, poise, pronounce, avoid, decoy, couch, tower, sour, destroy, bound, appoint, allowance, annoy
  • Grammar – Finish Chapter 6 - possessive nouns, interjections, clauses, subordinate conjunctions, complex sentences
  • Math – Chapter 7 - Division (We will go back and cover Chapter 6 after completing Chapter 7.)
  • Social Studies - Continuation of Civil Rights/Beginning of the Cold War
  • Science - Changes in Ecosystems/STEM lab challenge

Looking Ahead

  • November 21st - Puberty Class - 2:00 p.m. in Church Chapel and Parlor
  • November 22-24th - No School - Thanksgiving Holidays
  • December 6th - Class Pictures - Regular Dress Code
  • December 7th - All-school Christmas Chapel in the Worship Center @ 9:15 a.m.
  • December 14th - 5th Grade Musical reveal @ 12:15pm
