No images? Click here The search begins for Stories of Tasmania We think Tasmania is different …and just a bit special. So, we’ve begun the search for the stories of Tasmania that capture that difference, that special something. The Stories of Tasmania Short Film Competition is inviting short filmmakers to explore what it means to be Tasmanian. What is unique and specific about Tasmanian culture? What can only happen here on this island? So, if you are a film maker (or know a film maker) we are searching for your stories of Tasmania and what it means to be Tasmanian. Stories of Tasmanians with ideas, people who have gone outside the ordinary, people who have followed their passions and taken a risk, people who have collaborated to create something extraordinary, and people who have fought to protect what makes this place different. Details here.
The top three short films will win cash prizes (courtesy of Tourism Tasmania and Brand Tasmania) and Forty South magazine subscriptions. Filmmakers and film lovers will be invited to the Awards Presentations on Saturday 29th May in Hobart. And hey….. whether you are a proud Tasmanian or someone who loves Tasmania, now’s a great time to sample for yourself what makes Tasmania different and special! Come Down For Air. Looking for Naming SponsorsFunding a FREE online film festival and two in-cinema festivals is never easy. Corporate and government supporters make it possible – but in these continuingly “interesting times” they are less able to help. So, we are looking for your support for two theme categories we have chosen the films for but have less than the support we need. These are our flagship Stories of Us category with films such as the inspirational Rosemary’s Way, telling Local Hero Australian of the Year, Rosemary Kariuki’s, amazing story; and By Design with films like the documentary of the life of Alvar Aalto. If you were able to help us with any amount no matter how small it would be greatly appreciated. We can offer Deductible Gift Recipient status to make the donation tax free at Australian Cultural Fund - Free Online Film Festival. |
