Tennessee Floods: August 22, 2021
Hope Force International Reservists,
Seventeen inches of rain devastated Humphreys County, Tennessee, on Friday evening and throughout the morning on Saturday. A rapid rise in water caused conditions to deteriorate quickly. Streets and homes rapidly flooded, and people began crying out for rescue from the roofs of their houses. A Humphreys County sheriff reported tonight on the local news that ten people are confirmed dead, and 40 are missing.

Hickman, Humphreys, Dixon, Benton, and Houston Counties all have extensive flood damage. A local Hope Force Reservist has reported the entire town of Waverly, TN is underwater. An emergency management report stated that the Piney River in Vernon, TN, has crested at 12 feet higher than its historical record. It is truly devastating to see Tennessee go through yet another disaster in such a short time.
Would you join us in prayer for the families of those who lost their lives and those still missing? Also, pray for the survivors whose homes have been affected by this unprecedented flooding. The floodwaters have not yet receded, and we are closely monitoring the situation. Our team is looking to assess the damage as quickly as it is safe to do so.

Hope Force is actively responding in Haiti to the earthquake damage from last Saturday. We are also assessing damage in Mexico from Hurricane Grace which made landfall as a Category three. Our team is also closely monitoring Hurricane Henri bearing down on the northeast. Please join us in prayer for all affected by these disaster events, and for Hope Force leadership as we seek God's wisdom and guidance with so much happening simultaneously. Please standby for more information as the situation continues to unfold.
