Hey everyone!

I spent Easter camping in the mountains and enjoyed another (mostly) disconnected long weekend. Coming back to my comfortable, little corner of the internet does feel great too though, I must admit.

Last week I announced our sponsors and sent out an update on the future of Offscreen more generally. It's still rather vague, but I'm really excited about a bit of change after four years of publishing my magazine.

By the way, Issue 14 and 15 are now available for pre-orderYour support goes a long way to securing Offscreen's future.

Thanks, and have a great week!

Kai

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A night light with USB chargers
01

This simple night light has a built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn. And of course, the two front-facing USB ports will charge your phone/tablet while you sleep.

A free set of plugins for better photos
02

The Nik Collection, a set of plugins for easy photo enhancements, used to be $500 before Google bought the company a few years back. The price then dropped to $150 and just recently they decided to make it available for free. Worth a download/try if you use Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture for your photo editing.

A book on visualising information through photography
03

Some of you may have heard of Nicholas Felton before. He's become 'internet-famous' for his detailed annual reports that visualise a whole lot of data about his life in beautiful and interesting ways. Nicholas has now announce a new coffee table book in which he uses photography to analyse and visualise information. Looks like a great addition to your office library.

A Mac client for Inbox by Gmail
04

I haven't made the switch myself yet, but Inbox by Gmail is a new, simpler way of working through your emails and the reviews so far have been quite positive. Boxy is an unofficial app for Mac that extends the features of Inbox and wraps them in a great looking native app.

A portable, ergonomic fold-away desk
05

This handy, foldable kneeling desk got my attention. Currently being kickstarted (and well above the funding goal with 24 days to go), The Edge combines ergonomic sitting/kneeling with a small, adjustable desk space that easily fits under your bed when you don't need it.

A feature-rich note-taking app
06

There are plenty of options for good note-taking apps for the iPhone, not least the built-in Notes app by Apple. 1Writer extends these simple features with a more advanced set of options like Mardown support, checklist view, a customisable keyboard row, and more. (An extensive review here.)
