31 December 2020

Hi everyone

Today acting Premier Jacinta Allan announced that from 5pm tonight (31 December) the following restrictions will be in place in Victoria due to new community-acquired cases of COVID-19:

  • 15 people maximum will be allowed in your home (reduced from 30;  excluding members of the household and children under 12 months)
  • Masks will be mandatory indoors – masks need to be worn any time you are inside apart from when you’re eating or drinking

Due to these changes and in line with Government restrictions, members are advised that CFA-issued face masks must be worn indoors at any CFA location, office and/or station from 5pm tonight to protect your health and the health of others.

The mask-wearing requirements do not apply when members are required to wear a P2 Mask or other operational respiratory protection due to respiratory risks identified at an incident ground.

CFA-issued masks only need to be worn outdoors where physical distancing cannot be maintained per our current guidance.

For more information on the new Victorian Government restrictions visit the Department of Health and Human Services’ website.

We wish you a happy and safe New Year.
