THIS WEEK AT
If one of your (or someone's you know) resolutions for 2019 is to learn swing dancing, we've got you covered with Resolution Swing -- two months of beginner classes for the price of approximately one and a half. Approximately, because pricing is complicated, but a deal on beginner lindy hop classes at WNH is not! We are excited for a new program at WNH -- the Community Fund. This is a way for dancers who have a little extra money to help those who cannot afford to take classes or come to dances. Anybody can donate, and anyone can ask to be subsidized. Find out details and donate on our website. January 2019Hey WNH's newsletter readers! We are excited to try something new: sending the newsletter once at the beginning of each month, instead of every week. What do you think -- yay? nay? Know how to make it better? Shoot us an email, a FB message, or talk to us at the dance! The dance party is 9:30 - 11:45 IN THIS NEWSLETTERJanuary 9: Rob Reich Swings Left For more information January 9: Rob Reich Swings Left

This class is two-left-feet friendly, and the first of four months of Beginner's curriculum. Pre-requisites: None. No partner required, just bring comfy shoes and your enthusiasm!
Social Track (7:15pm - 8:15pm) Many beginners are surprised when they find out that Lindy Hop, and the modern swing dance floor in general, is full of different rhythms, patterns, and even dances, coexisting to the same swinging music. How do these diverse flavors help us express ourselves in jazz? What's the difference between eight-count and six-count? How do we transition well between them? And what does it mean to be "musical" anyway? Answers to all of these and others hand-picked by our instructors! Pre-requisites: All 4 months of Beginners Track or equivalent experience. No partner required, just bring comfy shoes and your enthusiasm!
Technical (7:15pm - 8:15pm) Proper stretch and compression should feel gooey and comfortable! Learn to use two of Lindy Hop's unique and powerful tools safely, effectively, and to have fun with your partner. Pre-requisites: All 4 months of Beginners Track or equivalent experience. No partner required, just bring comfy shoes and your enthusiasm!
Elective (8:15pm - 9:15pm) "Shag" was a term for partnered dancing that erupted in many forms during the swing era. This particular style caught on in colleges with young dancers itching to cut a rug and fraternize co-ed style. Come to learn these energetic, moves just perfect for fast-paced jazz! Pre-requisites: None; some partnered dance experience is preferred. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
