Communion Sabbath —————
Apr. 3 - "Marriage: Fresh Hope for the 'M' Word—He Lives!"
Prayer Promise"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
Hold the Presses: “Marriage” Is Coming! PASTOR'S BLOG He called marriage the “M” word, the late University of Chicago ethicist Don Browning: “‘It is often referred to as the “M” word, almost in the same category as other
dirty words. Of course, it is not a dirty word, but it is a word that makes people uncomfortable as a topic of serious conversation’” (Marriage and Modernization: How Globalization Threatens Marriage and What to Do About It, p viii [quoted in Mark Regnerus, The Future of Christian Marriage p 4). Let’s face it—timeless though it is, marriage as an institution is getting whacked in today’s culture, for both the young and the old. Nothing surprising there. Read More
March 27 – Communion Sabbath These pandemic celebrations of the Lord's Supper have turned out to be very meaningful worship experiences, the prepackaged communion elements and social distancing notwithstanding. Come and worship with us this Sabbath ("Love Story—Return to Sender: 'So I Am Sending You'"). If you prefer to celebrate the Lord's Supper at home, please drop by the church this Thursday or Friday to pick up your Communion element kit. And then Friday evening, let's join with family or a friend at home in commemorating our Lord's washing of our feet that Thursday night long ago. What a blessed Sabbath is coming: "Do this in remembrance of Me."
Foster Family Gift Basket Project This spring, our Grow Groups ministry is leading a project to put together a gift basket for each active foster family in Berrien County (75 total). These families are meeting a very special need in our community, and Pioneer wants to support them in their love on the move. Each basket will have an outdoor exploration theme, and will include a Bible storybook, snack items, outdoor activities, a certificate redeemable for a family membership at Sarett Nature Center or another local nature area, information about Pioneer’s Grow Groups and Children and Family Discipleship programs, our Mommy and Me events, and more! Do you want to be "Love on the Move" for our county foster families?

40 Days of Prayer Invitation Our student leaders on campus are calling for a 40 Days of Prayer initiative and are inviting us to join them (March 31-May 9, 2021). Here’s a letter from Stephen Farr, chaplain of the AUGSA, detailing ways we can be involved. I’m glad the students initiated this prayer focus, and I hope as many of us as possible can join them in this collective prayer. What an appropriate way to end this school year, given the times we are in. Forward on our knees
