Rest for success!

Practicing one or more types of rest can help prevent burnout

Burnout is the accumulation of uncontrolled or unresolved stress over long periods of time. It can make it difficult to concentrate and can negatively impact work performance and relationships. Burnout can be caused by more than just work, but it is often tied to chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. Some signs include constant fatigue, feeling detached, feeling anxious or hopeless, and procrastination.

Rest is important for preventing and addressing burnout. A cycle of exhaustion and stress can be avoided by intentionally practicing and prioritizing rest. Employers can help prevent burnout for staff by encouraging and providing opportunities for rest, in addition to other wellness supports.

World Bipolar Day

World Bipolar Day is on March 30, 2023. The vision of World Bipolar Day (WBD) is to bring awareness to bipolar disorders and eliminate social stigma. Bipolar disorder can make someone’s mood change dramatically from extreme highs (mania) to extreme lows (depression) for at least a week and most of the day. These changes can be overwhelming and upsetting, but a person may feel well between these periods.

Vaccinate before your vacation

Always take precautions and consider your risk

If you are planning a trip, consider your risk. Whether you are travelling within Canada or internationally, keep yourself and your family safe from preventable diseases by making sure your vaccinations are up-to-date (some vaccines are only available by paying a fee).

Visit a health care professional or a travel health clinic at least six weeks before you travel to:
