TONIGHT: Dinner and Live Music Out In the Open

Thursday, Aug. 15, 4-7 p.m., all three Weavers Way locations
Here's hoping for clear skies, so we can bring you Grill Fest — burgers, hot dogs, and vegan specialties for sale outside our stores. All three sites will feature live music: rock 'n' blues from Matt Berg and Steven Adler in Mt. Airy, French folk dance music from Cabriole in Chestnut Hill, and acoustic rock courtesy of Casual Fantastic in Ambler. See you there!

This documentary peers into the bottled water industry and its use of local water that is then sold back to us. Come early and dig into Grill Fest, or show up around 7:30 p.m. with lawn chairs, a blanket, and a chosen beverage (adult or not). We'll bring the watermelon. The film kicks off at 8:30 sharp.

 

Got Your Farm Dinner Tickets Yet?

Wednesday, Aug. 21, 6-8:30 p.m., Mort Brooks Memorial Farm, 6336 Ardleigh St., Mt. Airy
We're hosting a dinner party on our Mort Brooks Farm, and you're invited! Enjoy a seasonal festive menu prepared by Executive Chef Bonnie Shuman. The dinner, a fundraiser for our urban farms, features communal tables and is zero waste and BYOB.

Mt. Airy's Kitchen Set to Reopen

There are just a couple more days of making do while needed repairs and upgrades are taking place in the kitchen/packing room of our Mt. Airy store. The departments and space will reopen Saturday, Aug. 17.

Our resident sharpener, Jesse Howe of Howe Sharp, will be in Ambler again this weekend. Bring all your knives, scissors, garden tools, and more, and he'll return them like new.

Are you new to Weavers Way? We want to help you get the most out of your Co-op membership.

 

Learn how to opt in or out of the working membership program, hear how membership works for you and for the neighborhood, and see how to access the most benefits. The PRTF Needs Your Tees!

The Plastic Reduction Task Force will be running a DIY reusable bag-making station at the Mt. Airy Village Fair on Sunday, Sept. 8, and they need gently used T-shirts to create no-sew reusable bags. Donated tees should be washed and have no holes or embellishments. Shirts can be dropped off with Programs Coordinator Jeannine Kienzle at the Membership and Outreach Office (555 Carpenter Lane) in Mt. Airy, given to a cashier in Chestnut Hill, or left at the Membership Desk in Ambler.
