Join us for a Remote Training Session!

For Australian users of Bp Premier, Bp VIP.net and Bp Allied and New Zealand users of Bp VIP.net

Do you find yourself thinking about any of the following scenarios or questions?

  • Have my patients ever complained about a business process? Perhaps they’d accidentally received an incorrect reminder notice, or were recalled in for a reason that wasn’t clear to them
  • Does your Practice produce numerous errors or repeat the same errors?
  • Would you like to know how your Practice can improve efficiency so your Clinical staff can spend time on more valuable work?
  • Do you want to understand the correct end-to-end process across your Practice from how you open to your end of day procedure?
  • Do you have duplicated tasks across multiple areas?
  • Is your data clean? Is it free of duplicates? Does it have clean and clear reminder reasons? Do reports pull the correct information for requirements?
  • Let us help you take the step towards a more efficiently run Practice – with Remote Training!

Remote training can be highly customised to suit your Practice’s need, and with one flat fee per hour. It’s a very cost effective way of getting a lot of knowledge to a lot of people. With technology that allows us to see how your business operates, we are best placed to show you more efficient ways of doing things, irrespective of what Best Practice Product you use.

All of our sessions are recorded and provided to you via private link, should you wish to refresh at a later stage, or use as a training tool for new staff.

So for users of Bp Premier, Bp VIP.net and Bp Allied, click here to find out more information or to book in some remote training. Or you can contact the Product Training and Knowledge Team on 1300 40 1111 in Australia or 0800 40 1111 in New Zealand today.

Bp VIP.net Hints and Tips

For New Zealand and Australian users of Bp VIP.net

Changing the views of the Medical Desktop and the Snap Shot for New Users.

When a new user is created on Bp VIP.net, it is important to make some changes to how they view Bp VIP.net.

The Medical Desktop (F11) screen may appear to be small and only appear on the top left hand corner of your screen. This is because the Zoom mode has not been set.

  1. Click the Setup menu.
  2. Select Workstation Preferences
  3. Click the down arrow beside Medical Desktop UDF Zoom Mode and select ‘Fit to Screen’.
  4. Click OK to save.
  5. Click the F11 key to check your Medical Desktop now fits to your monitor.

Smart Tip:

The Appointment Book Font Scale field on the Workstation Preferences screen will enable you to increase the size of the font on the Appointment book.

Try the font size in increments of 20% until you are happy with the size of the appointment book, e.g. 120%

To change what is displayed in the Snap Shot bar:

  1. Click Setup>Personal Preferences
  2. Select the ‘Use Facility Preferences’ tick box to view the same Snap Shot options as the business or select from the list on the Personal Preferences screen the items you wish to view in the Snap Shot.
  3. Click OK to save your changes.
  4. Restart Bp VIP.net to view your changes in the Snap Shot.

Bp Premier Hints and Tips

For Australian users of Bp Premier

Flu Season tools

With Flu season approaching, now is the time to get familiar with the Immunisation Window in Bp Premier.

Selecting Ctrl+F1 will open up the Immunisation window. Alt F11 when you’ve opened a patient and there are unchecked results. It will just open the inbox in the context of that patient so no other patients’ results get exposed while the patient is in front of the doctor.

Selecting the correct location amongst your multiple locations

For Practices that have multiple locations: users who move between locations should be aware of the importance of selecting the correct location when logging in.

At the bottom of the login screen, there is a drop down for Location which sets your ‘current’ logged in location.

This is used throughout Bp Premier to select the following:

  • Correct address when printing scripts and letters
  • Correct provider number for invoices and Medicare claiming
  • The location allocated to invoices when creating accounts outside the appointment book
  • The location where payments are being taken

If the wrong login location is selected, it can adversely affect things such as Medicare claiming, Management Reports and reconciliation of daily takings.

Best Practice Support News

For all users of Best Practice Software using SQL Server

A timely reminder that the upcoming end of support (EOS) milestones for the 2008 releases of SQL Server is July 2019 and Windows Server is January 2020.

End of support means the end of regular security updates.

With cyberattacks becoming more sophisticated and frequent, running apps and data on unsupported versions can create significant security and compliance risks.

Best Practice Software recommends liaising with your IT Specialists to review your potential upgrade paths.

Remember that our Software Support team is here to help if you have questions, but to save you time you can review this article for information on upgrade options.

Please note that if you are currently using editions of SQL Server that require a paid licence, there may be additional subscription costs to upgrade. And just a reminder - Windows 7 support ends in 2020 so you may like to start planning this now as well.
