SVP Grant Opportunity

On September 21, we will begin accepting Letters of Interest for our fall 2020 Capacity Building Grant. SVP grants combine a financial grant with pro bono, collaborative consulting services. SVP invests in promising nonprofits in the seven-county Twin Cities metro area.

For this grant cycle, SVP will prioritize investing in BIPOC* led nonprofits that serve the needs of under-resourced teens and young adults in traditionally marginalized communities.

SVP will select up to five organizations for a grant relationship. More details and LOI guidelines here.

  • Take the Census - If you haven’t yet completed the 2020 census, fill it out online – it only takes about 10 minutes! The U.S. Census Bureau has made the decision to end the in-person census count one month early on Sept 30 -- leaving many behind. Check out the OurFamilesCount Census Week of Action. This once-a-decade count of people in our communities determines representation, districting and federal funding allocations. We need to make sure our communities get counted!

Read this provocative opinion article about what it might truly mean to an anti-racist. “Recognizing that Black people matter as much as all other Americans is only acknowledging what’s always been true. Embracing Blackness as a something of value and dignity is a baseline for progress, not progress.”
