April Product UpdatesThis month’s updates are split nicely between software and web. Software updates include amazing new search capabilities, multi-MID setup options, and an enhanced receipt functionality. Web updates include a slew of new reporting enhancements for merchants; additionally, resellers now have the ability to upload a VAR sheet, view a timeline of merchant events in one place, and view enhanced reporting. We have included a summary of some of these updates below. Our full list of updates, along with helpful notes, can be found here. Universal Search Bar | Merchants can now access a universal search bar on their home screen that allows them to easily search for transactions, products, and order information. Multi-MID | Use Multi-MID to associate a single physical terminal to multiple merchants. This is especially useful for businesses like salons, where each stylist owns their own business, sets their own prices, and manages their own payments, but uses the same terminal as other colleagues. Resend Receipt Menu | Merchants now have the ability to not only reprint, but also resend receipts via email or text from an already completed transaction. Merchant Sales & Reporting | Merchants can now view an instant snapshot of their sales activity under the Sales & Reporting tab on the web portal. Merchants can view sales by payment types, items, sales by employees, and settlements daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Additional custom reports are available via the “Reports” tab. Speedy Terminal Sign-In | Merchants can now enable new and existing terminal users to sign into their terminal/s using just a pass-code, enabling a faster login experience. Poynt Tips & TricksMerchants and resellers frequently ask us what peripherals they can use with the Poynt Smart Terminal. Users have access to a wide range of popular peripheral devices including printers, cash drawers and barcode scanners! Click here for a comprehensive list of compatible peripherals and instructions on how to connect them to your Poynt Smart Terminal. Merchant SpotlightOur April Merchant Spotlight is on Indianapolis-based men’s boutique, James Dant. Nestled in the quaint Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis, James Dant has gained a cult following thanks to its big city aesthetic, hand picked couture, and friendly service. Tommy Dant, the owner, chose Poynt as he was keen to offer his clients a superior payment experience; he also knew the features would allow him to run his business better. Recently, he was able to save a sale solely due to Poynt’s ability to accept NFC/mobile payments. In Tommy’s words: “I recently had a customer drive three hours out of his way to pick up a bag from the store. When he arrived, he realized he forgot his wallet; rather than having to return another day, he was able to pay seamlessly with Apple Pay. Poynt takes the hassle out of paying, and instead makes it part of a tailored experience, which is essential when clients buy something they really love.” App of the MonthAccording to industry research nearly 28% of adults have downloaded a restaurant app to do things like placing orders in advance. Now, via Apptizer on the Poynt Smart Terminal, any-sized food business can offer their customers an order-ahead option. With Apptizer, merchants can set up their order-ahead mobile app in minutes. The app seamlessly syncs to the Poynt Smart Terminal to enable the following:
