Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccines: Australian Government Department of Health Disability Provider Alert (10 June 2021)

The Australian Government Department of Health (Department of Health) has issued a Disability Provider Alert with updated information for disability providers.

Key points

  • The Department of Health has issued a new Disability Provider Alert. The alert contains important information about the vaccination process for people with disability.
  • The alert explains the new eligibility criteria for people with disability for getting a COVID-19 vaccine, and where they can receive their vaccinations.
  • We ask that you promote to your workforce the virtual meeting that will be hosted by the Department of Health on Thursday, 17 June 2021 at 11:30am-12:30pm (AEST). The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and answer questions from disability support workers about the COVID-19 vaccination program.

Department of Health provider alert (10 June 2021)

The Department of Health has issued a COVID-19 vaccination – Disability Provider Alert 10 June 2021.

The alert contains important information about the continued rollout of the COVID-19, including the new eligibility criteria for people with disability for getting a COVID-19 vaccine. In particular, all NDIS participants aged 16 years or and over, and carers aged 16 years and over of NDIS participants of any age are now eligible.

As well as information on where people with disability can receive vaccinations, the alert also contains information about a virtual meeting that is being held on Thursday, 17 June 2021 at 11.30am-12.30pm (AEST) to answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccination program. You can register online for this meeting.
