English Camp, Czech Republic, July 2016
by David Nakhla
The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.
Psalm 126:3 (ESV)
It’s easy to put a lot of focused time, energy, and resources into going on a short-term missions trip. As a matter of fact, the travel itself demands it. Plans need to be made. Funds need to be raised. Flights need to be booked. Lessons need to be prepared.
What is difficult is the time and energy we need to put into returning home from the field. Life went rolling along without us, and we have to catch up. Bills came in. The email box filled up. The lawn grew. There is news our loved ones want to share. Does this allow time to reflect on what the LORD did in and through us while we were away?
In view of this, I’ve been very thankful to see that more and more of our short-term missionaries, in the midst of the busyness of "returning," are taking the time to reflect on - and share with us - the great things the LORD did for them. And it makes me glad! May you also rejoice in the LORD as you review, below, the work of his servants this summer!

Is there a project that your church could undertake if it had the help of volunteers from another OP church or presbytery? For example:
In making such a need known, your church actually provides an opportunity for those who seek to share their time, gifts, and skills with others in the OPC!
RECENT EXAMPLES:
In 2016, San Antonio Reformed (OPC) was helped by a team from Trinity OPC in Hatboro, PA, and Christ Presbyterian (OPC) in Magna, UT, was helped by a team from Cedar OPC in Hudsonville, MI, and Faith OPC in Long Beach, CA.
We can help you get the word out and look for a team! Contact us at OPCShortTermMissions@opc.org for further information, or click below to complete a form to request a team to help your church!
