TO ALL DRESSAGE EVENT ORGANISERS – HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT INCLUDING PARA EQUESTRIAN TESTS AT YOUR EVENTS?
Thank you to the clubs who currently offer Para Equestrian tests at their fixtures.
Dressage WA and the Para Equestrian riders appreciate your willingness to give them this opportunity.
For clubs who are unfamiliar with requirements for running PE tests, in a nut shell, there are very few-
PE Riders are encouraged to contact clubs to request that they include a specific PE Test on their programme. Clubs are not expected to hold these tests if they have not had a request from a PE rider.
Grades I-III riders ride in a 40x20 arena - this is probably the most trouble to arrange but the riders are aware that they should bring a helper to help with any arena changes.
Grades IV and V riders ride in a 60x20 arena – require no arena changes and can ride before or at the completion of any Able Bodied tests.
Judges – although it is ideal to have a PE Judge, riders are happy to have the opportunity to compete and most judges will officiate if you check with them, when they are invited. You may already have already invited a PE judge, as they are all accredited EA Dressage Judges.
Para Equestrian Accredited Judges – Wendy Barker, Lisa Baker, Hazel Hikins, Kim Thomas, Elaine Greene, Nadine Herbert, Virginia Longley, Tracey Hockley, Chris Hope.
Like all Dressage riders, Para Dressage riders need to compete to hone their skills. We have some very talented Para riders who have competed and are aiming to compete in the Eastern States. Some have some have done this very successfully and have a goal to represent Australia.
THEY NEED YOUR HELP TO GET THE SCORES WHICH WILL HELP THEM REACH THS GOAL

SAVE THE DATE! - DRESSAGE WA PRESENTS REGIONAL RIDERS RUMBLE
When: 2nd June 2019
Where: State Equestrian Centre, Brigadoon
This is a callout to regional and country dressage riders!
A dressage competition with a difference.
As well as competing for yourself, you will also be competing for your region!
The top four scores from each region are taken and added together, and whoever gets the highest wins Regional Champion!
Dressage WA has noted the fact that it can be sometimes daunting for country riders to travel so far, and compete against metro riders who have more access to metro facilities and competitions, and have come up with this innovative idea for an event with you in mind! In order to enter this event, you must live 100 km and further from Perth city.
You also need EA membership, in either category of Adult Rider, Participant or Competitor.
We already have some amazing sponsors, please see our website link on Dressage WA website https://www.dressagewa.org/regional-riders-rumble.html
Entries are now open on Nominate and close on the 15 May, or whenever classes fill...get in quick to secure your tests 😊.
This weekend is set to be a blast!
