Selkirk College is marking 50 years of learning in the West Kootenay and Boundary regions with a momentous celebration that reflects on the past, present and future of post-secondary. In September, 1966 Selkirk College opened its doors to a new era and five decades later, a mission to transform lives through education and training close to home continues.

One of the highlights of the Homecoming weekend will be recognition of The Great Trek when the first Selkirk College students who started in temporary makeshift classes at Celgar walked to the new campus in January, 1967.

Homecoming Weekend plans are set for September 16 to 18 and will feature three days of events and activities that pay tribute to Selkirk College's golden anniversary. Students, donors and staff were brought together in February for the 2016 Bursary Tea as Selkirk College kicked off its 50th Anniversary celebrations at Nelson’s Mary Hall on the Tenth Street Campus.

Support Future Students with Legacy Fund
