If you follow our Facebook page you will have read that another Longest Lutheran Lunch has been held. Yes, out of hours! You’ve probably seen somewhere that it’s quite acceptable to host your Lunch ‘out of hours’ ... and it sure is!
This week I was thrilled to read that Faith Lutheran College, Plainland, Queensland, hosted a Longest Lutheran Lunch and posted some pics on our Facebook page. After a bit over a year, our Facebook page is starting to build a community all of its own. Social interaction between Lutherans around Australia and New Zealand, and indeed the world, is one way we can encourage each other and grow our church. You never know who’s watching!
Faith Lutheran College is located in the picturesque Lockyer Valley, halfway between Ipswich and Toowoomba. According to Google maps, that’s 1690 km (or 18 hours and 24 minutes)from my home in central Victoria. The college is a secondary co-educational school with 720 students in Years 7 to 12. Imagine contemplating a lunch for that many people! It’s with grateful thanks that the college provided a delicious meal for their community. That’s a magnificent effort! Congratulations to the students, staff and participants of this mid-September Longest Lutheran Lunch.
