Finals - 11/6

Finals format will be two all-skates (rotate in-between), one spotlight (after one rotation), followed by another all-skates to LIVE MUSIC (see below). We go until the judges and crowd are satisfied!

11/6: Sean Krazit's Juniper Jazz Band

The band specializes in small group swing and finds inspiration from the music of Johnny Hodges, Lester Young, and other greats of the 1920s-40s.

Beginners: 8-count Lindy Hop

Come learn Lindy Hop! You'll build the dance from the basics while learning some of the history of this Black American art form. 

Core Concepts: Flying with Charleston

In this class, we will drill basic charleston technique and learn some fun charleston vocabulary that you can bring to social partner dancing. We will cover charleston variations in 6 and 8 count, sailor kick, and airplanes. Get ready to kick away!

Adventure: Intermediate Balboa: Technique

As requested: a technique-focused balboa class! We will address how to make every balboa dance feel better by diving deeply into connection, rhythm, weight shifts, pulse, and rotational stretch.

Deep Dive: Turning Down The Line

We'll talk about negotiating and navigating linear vs rotational momentum, and how we can apply that to your turning fundamentals to make your turns smooth, relaxed, and flexible with a lot of different stylings!

11/13: DJ Rolling Pin

WNH will dedicate a room to all things “fast swing.” This could mean uptempo Lindy Hop, or dancing other swing dances such as Balboa or Collegiate Shag that evolved with faster music. Give it a whirl!
