We're getting close! Connecting the new underpass to Welcome Bay Road
From mid-April we will be connecting the Maungatapu underpass to Welcome Bay Road. This will mean lane diversions, speed restrictions, unsealed surfaces, and off peak and night works.
We will do as much work as we can during the school holidays and at night to minimise the impact on traffic, however there will be some delays.
We know delays can be frustrating but we urge you to take care when travelling through these areas.
This work is happening in the lead up to a community open planned for Sunday 27 May, which will give you the opportunity to walk or cycle through the underpass before it opens to traffic.
