(Consultant) comes to LFA with experience guiding leadership development and equity-focused initiatives within the public and private sectors. She considers it her life’s work to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice efforts within organizations and in service to marginalized communities. Tomika brings her extensive experience as an educator, independent consultant, nonprofit leader, and diversity and equity practitioner to her role as consultant at LFA. Before joining LFA, she worked in the nonprofit and education sectors and in a client-facing leadership center, with a focus on leadership and youth development, K-12, and higher education. Tomika has applied the lens of both a researcher and practitioner to effectively design, implement, and improve practices, programs, and policies for various public and private sector clients, at Girl Scouts of Greater New York, through a multiplatform coalition of the New York City Council, at Barnard College of Columbia University, and at DePaul University. In all of her work, Tomika takes a collaborative and community-based approach, believing rich, potentially untapped, and vital spheres of knowledge exist within communities. You’ll also find Tomika enjoying music and singing, exploring new cities, spending time with family and friends, and growing her Spanish language skills. Emma Ramsbottom, MA (Consultant) In her work as a consultant, Emma seeks to live out her commitments to equity, justice, and reflective growth by partnering with social sector actors to effectively operationalize their own values and visions. Emma believes that “the wisdom is in the room” and employs a facilitative leadership style to support organizations in defining their goals, capturing evidence of their impact, and building strong, sustainable learning cultures. Emma came to LFA after several years of developing her social change toolkit in public service and nonprofit program management roles, which led to providing evaluation consulting services to a variety of organizations and institutions in the public health, social service, education, and community organizing domains. Most recently, she served as an internal evaluator and strategic learning manager for a large intermediary nonprofit based in the Twin Cities. In her free time, Emma can be found enjoying Minnesota’s many parks and lakes, indulging in pop culture podcasts, and spoiling her cattle dog. Jack Chin, MA (Senior Consultant) brings over thirty years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors to his consulting practice. He has extensive working knowledge of grantmaking, strategy and organizational development, evaluation planning, formative evaluation, collaborative learning, and board governance. Jack believes in the power of groups, drawing upon stakeholders' unique perspectives and strengths to collectively design and implement better solutions. Prior to joining LFA in 2022, Jack worked at the San Francisco Foundation, the Gap Foundation, and two peer consulting firms, Blueprint Research+Design and Arabella Advisors. He has served on a dozen boards, including as founding chair of the Asian Pacific Environmental Network, and currently as treasurer of Climate Access. Through his professional and community service, Jack has worked on a range of issues such as environmental justice, pre-K-12 and postsecondary education, place-based learning, youth organizing, policy advocacy, strategic communications, leadership development, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Jack lives in San Francisco with his wife where, as empty nesters, they enjoy the natural and cultural richness of the Bay Area while awaiting the next visits home by their two young adult children.
