NEW EA CODES OF CONDUCT

Following a review of the policies of many other sports and discussion with the Australian Sports Commission on their requirements, Equestrian Australia has developed a revised Code of Conduct. MORE

SEC STABLE FEES

The increase in SEC stabling fees are now in effect as of 1 July 2017. This is a result of EWA's need to comply with City of Swan and Swan River Trust planning regulations regarding the removal of all manure and used bedding from the SEC site. Stable fees for EWA members will now be $20 per day and non-members $40 for the first day and then $20 for additional days.

It is now the time of year to send in FEI Calendar Applications for 2018. If you wish to hold an International (FEI) event during 2018, you will need to fill out the application form and return it to Equestrian Australia by Monday 7 August 2017. MORE

HIGH PERFORMANCE

JUMPING SQUAD FUNDING NOW OPEN

Applications are now open for Round 1 of Jumping WA Funding Support for events that occurred March - July 2017 (to include Yalambi Classic/Bunbury SJ Classic/Busselton Winter Classic/GCEC). Entry fee rebates of up to $400 per horse are available. Applications close 22 August. MORE

HIGH PERFORMANCE FORUM & WORKSHOP

This event is FREE and COMPULSORY for La Noir Saddleworld High Performance Athletes. Topics for the lectures are:

  • Sports Nutritionist David Bryant – Ensuring you are consuming a nutrient dense diet to maximise your performance in all facets of life.
  • Sports Psychologist Adrian Schonfield – Understanding the values, attitudes and behaviours that are required by Equestrian athletes. 
  • Personal Trainer Kirsty Holmes - Understanding strength and fitness for Equestrian athletes.

Registrations for the workshop are now open at www.nominate.com.au to EA NCAS coaches and other invited athletes on a pathway to state representation ($77.00 fee applies). La Noir High Performance athletes do not need to register online but are encouraged to invite their coaches to attend.

JUMPING SQUAD APPLICATIONS & UPDATE FORMS

Applications are now open for the La Noir Saddleworld EWA Jumping High Performance Squads.

Current jumping squad athletes are expected to submit a competition update every 6 months. The deadline to submit updates is 4:00pm 10 July (Monday following GCEC). Failure to submit an update will result in removal from the squad.

VALLEY EQUINE VETERINARY CENTRE

The WA Eventing Committee would like to thank Warwick Vale and the team at Valley Equine Veterinary Centre for their continued support of our state's eventing community.

Valley Equine Veterinary Centre provides $2500 each year to Eventing WA, plus veterinary attendance at one WA FEI CIC/CCI event in an FEI Veterinary Delegate Capacity, and two annual veterinary lectures to WA Eventing Squad Members. They also sponsor the FEI Young Eventing Rider of the Year Award which aims to foster the young eventing rider into FEI competitions.

EVENTING IN THE PARK NOT RETURNING FOR 2017

Perth Horse Trials Association will be running a new EvA65 class for the first time as part of the Prestige Loans and Wealth Creation Wooroloo International Three Day Event (18-21 August 2017).

“We are really excited about this new class which will enable grassroots riders to enjoy competing alongside international competitors at WA’s premier international three-day event,” explained Perth Horse Trials Association Chair Brett Christie. The class, which will run both senior and junior sections, will take in a new cross country course running at the top of the existing national and international courses designed by international course designer Wayne Copping.

“The course will run predominantly across the flatter areas of the Wooroloo Prison Farm site, with a range of new obstacles including both transportables and permanent fences,” added Brett, who acts as cross country controller for the event in the Perth Hills.

The WA State Showjumping Championships will be returning to the State Equestrian Centre in 2017, to be held over three days on 27-29 October.
